A system / an algorithm designed for performing a search on the Internet (World Wide Web) to find out relevant information.

There are different search engines:
  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • Bing
  • & many more......
The results that pulls up (that is displayed) from the search made is known as Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs).


Search Engine Optimization (SEO): A Brief:-
The process of optimizing your website – by making certain changes in web design & content which improves the visibility of your website on search engines. SEO process – also known as ‘Organic’ / ‘Natural’ way to bring traffic to your website. This process allows traffic to come down to your website without running any advertisements on the Internet.



The website is scanned / crawled by different search engines to know what the website is all about based on the information & content your website has so they can effectively display contents to the user base searching the Net. This also means that the website should be:
  • Search Engine Friendly
  • Easy to Navigate / Read
  • Content Driven

In addition to the above points, there are many other factors of which one factor is how your website reacts to mobile searches. Mobile has become a powerful tool & we will be discussing about this in one of the articles & how it affects the search engine results.

SEO – to be precise organic SEO is complex sometimes as the information that your website serves should not only be relevant to what is being searched but also it should be of high quality.

So, in short – your website design / content relevance / content quality / navigation – all these factors matter a lot to get your potential customer base & for your website to be visible on the internet. So, be careful of all these & once you start understanding the basics, you can get all the traffic you would like to convert into your potential customers.

  • On-page: SEO that’s done on your website
  • Off page: SEO done outside of your website


Points To Remember:-

  • SEO – organic SEO is a complex process and it can take up to 6 months – 1 year for your website to rank high on search engines.
  • Duplicate content is not good for your website visibility.

As it is rightly quoted - “Content is the King” – your website’s content & its’ quality really matters for SEO!
